KEYS 4 HealthyKids has been awarded a $360,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to improve opportunities for physical activity and access to affordable, healthy foods for children and families in Kanawha County. Based on a rigorous selection process that drew more than 500 proposals from across the country, Kanawha County is one of 41 sites selected for the RWJF Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities initiative.

The Douglass Institute (GRDI) of WV State University is giving this holiday season. GRDI along with other departments and divisions on campus are giving life to the earth this holiday season. The Institute is joining with the University and the Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority in creating a campus wide recycling program.
There are a variety of problems with social media. Here are seven common mistakes that could really make you look like a rookie that just learned about this Internet thing. Don’t worry if you are making some of these mistakes, you are not alone, and you won’t be the last.
1. Trying to participate in too many tools
In the next two months, the pressure is on like no other time of year -- to entertain, to purchase gifts, to decorate, to contribute to office or community festivities and to travel to Grandma's house (via sleigh or not).
WVSU Extension Service is holding a wreathmaking workshop on December 8 from 10am - 1pm. It will take place in the Wilson Student Union on campus.
Cost for the workshop is $20 and advanced registration is required.
