Point Pleasant and all points in between

Have you ever been somewhere that just stuck out in your mind? During a recent excursion to Pt. Pleasant to witness a masterful quilt hanging at the Gus R. Douglass farm we happened upon the Heritage Farm Museum on the outskirts of Pt. Pleasant. Their website lists it in Huntington, but I would call it Pt Pleasant more specifically.  http://www.heritagefarmmuseum.com/

The quilt hanging at the Douglass Farm was beautiful, but the Heritage Farm Museum was just so unexpected. My coworkers and I were treated to an in depth tour of the museum grounds, from a museum lunchroom, to the world’s largest horse (at one time he was), to three little pigs in a pen, a late 1800’s restored log barn, to the most amazing antique country storefront featuring:

  • Antique washing machines
  • Cooking utensils and refrigeration
  • Spinning and weaving
  • Dental and Medical Offices
  • Barber Shop

Visit their website at http://www.heritagefarmmuseum.com/ and explore the grounds. If you are ever near Pt. Pleasant or the Mothman chases you out of Pt. Pleasant, look for the Heritage Farm Museum. Once you enter their grounds, it’s a step back in time and a little bit of living history.
