The State Fair will host the second annual West Virginia Recipe Challenge on Saturday, August 18, 2007. The Recipe Challenge is for entrepreneurs who have dreamed of taking their product to the grocery store shelf. The grand prize for a new entrepreneur is a prize package of goods and services, culminating in the opportunity to bring their final product to market. Prizes include recipe refinement, packaging design, label development, nutritional panel creation and technical assistance, production time in a commercial kitchen, product marketing, and more.
The West Virginia Recipe Challenge is a collaboration of West Virginia State University Extension, the State Fair of West Virginia, Mountain Bounty Kitchen, BIZA$SIST, Tamarack, and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture.
